DFD ALARM TOTAL RISES NEARLY 10% WITH 471 CALLS IN 2011

DeFreestville Fire Department volunteers answered 9.5% more alarms in 2011 than in 2010, according to the annual report of Fire Chief Raymond Swart. The Chief said DFD answered 471 emergency calls last year compared with 426 alarms in 2010.
In 2011, DFD had the following alarms totals by type:
Structure Fires 12
Rescue/MV Accidents 53
Emergency Medical Services 82
Hazardous Conditions 40
Vehicle Fires 5

DFD HANDLES 96 CALLS IN OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER
North Greenbush – Volunteers of the DeFreestville Fire Department answered 54 alarms in October and a further 42 in November to bring the year’s total for responses to 436 according to the monthly reports of Fire Chief Raymond Swart. He said DFD fire fighters had spent a total of more than 2,846 fire fighter hours at alarms during the first 11 months of 2011.

DFD ALARM TOTAL REACHES 340



(Oct 5, 2011)         North Greenbush – With 43 emergency responses during September, volunteers of the DeFreestville Fire Department raised their total of alarms for the first nine months of 2011 to 340 according to the monthly fire report of Fire Chief Raymond Swart. The Chief said DFD fire fighters spent 202 fire fighter hours at alarms in September, for a total of more than 2,388 hours at emergencies so far this year.
